Metacam 0.5mg/ml Oral Suspension for Cats and Guinea Pigs
Prescription Only Medication (POM-V)

Metacam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to reduce pain and inflammation in cats and guinea pigs.

Uses in Cats:

Effective for chronic musculoskeletal conditions, such as arthritis

Suitable for acute musculoskeletal disorders, including injury

Reduces mild to moderate post-operative pain and inflammation following soft tissue or orthopaedic surgery

Uses in Guinea Pigs:

Licensed for reducing post-operative pain and inflammation after soft tissue surgery

Metacam is available in 3ml, 15ml, and 30ml bottle sizes to suit pets of all sizes and treatment durations.
It contains meloxicam (0.5mg/ml) and is the UK’s No.1 pain and inflammation medication for cats and guinea pigs.
It is also the only NSAID licensed for use in guinea pigs (MAT value, Kynetec Mar 2025).

Important Information:

Do not use in kittens under 6 weeks old

Not suitable for pregnant or lactating cats

Avoid use in animals with gastrointestinal, liver, kidney, or heart disorders

Discontinue use and contact your vet if any adverse reactions occur

Always use as directed by your veterinary surgeon.
