A prescription treatment that helps control involuntary urine leakage in spayed female dogs caused by hormone-related weakening of the bladder muscles.
Incurin 1mg Tablets for Dogs
Incurin is a prescription-only veterinary medicine (POM-V) used to help manage urinary incontinence in spayed female dogs, when the condition is linked to hormonal changes affecting the urethral sphincter.
Urinary incontinence in these cases is often caused by the urethral sphincter not closing properly, which allows urine to leak from the bladder unintentionally.
This treatment works by raising oestrogen levels in the body, helping to restore normal muscle tone in the urethral sphincter and prevent urine leakage.
Each tablet contains 1mg of estriol, a naturally occurring, short-acting oestrogen. The dosage must be tailored to the individual dog and should always be determined by a veterinary professional. The standard starting dose is one tablet per day.
Follow your vet’s instructions exactly when using this medication.
Incurin should not be given to unspayed female dogs, as it has only been proven effective in dogs that have been neutered.
Avoid use in dogs that show signs of drinking and urinating excessively. This product should not be administered to pregnant or nursing dogs, or to those under one year of age.
High doses of Incurin may lead to side effects related to oestrogen. Always consult the full product literature for important safety information and contraindications.
