A PCR test designed to detect the presence of Johne’s Disease (Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis) in livestock with high accuracy and reliability.
The Johne’s PCR Test is a sensitive molecular diagnostic test used to identify Johne’s Disease, a chronic and contagious bacterial infection that affects the intestines of cattle, sheep, goats, and other ruminants. Caused by Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP), this disease can lead to weight loss, diarrhoea, and reduced productivity.
Using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology, this test detects the genetic material of the bacteria directly from faecal samples, allowing for early and accurate diagnosis, even in subclinical stages before visible symptoms appear.
Sample Required: Faecal sample
A vital diagnostic tool for farmers, breeders, and veterinarians, supporting herd health monitoring, disease control, and biosecurity management across ruminant livestock.
